| Overview | Seeking an experienced technician with a minimum of 5 years in the textile knitting industry to support the Knitting Technician Head and manage both flat and circular knitting machines to ensure optimal production efficiency, quality, and safety. |
Key Responsibilities
Operation & Setup: Operate and manage flat knit and circular knit machines; set up machines for production runs.
Maintenance & Repair: Change CAM settings, needles, sinkers, and cylinders as required. Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs; liaise with maintenance for major issues.
Supervision: Supervise, train, and coordinate a team of up to 30 knitting operators; allocate workloads and monitor performance.
Quality Control: Ensure product quality standards are met; perform in-process checks and address defects promptly.
Reporting: Maintain accurate production records and report daily progress to the Knitting Technician Head.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in knitting operations (flat and circular machines).
Supervision: Experience supervising a sizable operator team (preferred experience managing ~30 operators).
Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, and process optimization skills.
Soft Skills: Good communication and team leadership abilities.
Computer Literacy: Basic computer literacy for production reporting is preferred.
Education: Relevant technical diploma/certificate in textile technology or related field is an advantage.
