Job Role/Key Responsibilities
The role requires attention to detail, adherence to established food safety standards, and teamwork.
Assist in the preparation of pastry doughs, creams, fillings, and toppings as per standard recipes.
Support baking, shaping, decorating, and finishing processes as instructed by the Chef de Partie.
Ensure correct weighing, mixing, and portioning of ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, utensils, and equipment.
Follow all food safety and hygiene practices as per HACCP/GMP standards.
Assist in mise en place before production starts and proper storage after completion.
Report shortages of ingredients or equipment issues to the Chef de Partie.
Participate in training sessions to improve pastry-making skills and product knowledge.
Support the pastry team in achieving daily production and quality targets.
Candidate Requirements
Passionate about Sri Lanka.
G.C.E. O/L or A/L; vocational or NVQ-level training in bakery or pastry preferred.
1–2 years in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or food manufacturing environment (freshers with strong interest in pastry may also apply).
Basic knowledge of pastry and bakery production.
Strong food safety & hygiene awareness.
Ability to follow recipes and SOPs accurately.
Attention to detail, discipline, and reliability.
Positive attitude with willingness to learn and grow.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
