We are seeking a responsible and dedicated Cashier to join our team at Wickrama Super, Ganemulla. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. As a Cashier, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions. Your role will involve managing cash registers, processing payments, and maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
Accurately process customer transactions using the cash register and payment systems.
Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions efficiently and securely.
Ensure the correct pricing of products, applying discounts, and offering promotions where applicable.
Assist customers with inquiries about products, store policies, or services.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
Process returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policy.
Follow store procedures for cash handling, balancing the register, and reporting discrepancies.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold the integrity of store financial transactions.
Ensure a positive customer experience and resolve any issues with professionalism.
Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve store goals.
Qualifications:
Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash and transactions.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy times.
Trustworthy and reliable with a commitment to maintaining the highest level of honesty and integrity.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Basic knowledge of math for cash handling and transaction processing.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
