Overview of the Job Responsibilities
The Site Manager will play a critical role in overseeing construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed according to design specifications, quality standards, and within the allocated time frame. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, project management, and construction site operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Effectively manage the manpower and other resources for successful execution of projects.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of construction work.
- Ensure all site activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with the construction manager continuously to share site updates and obtain advice, ideas, and practices.
- Responsible for interim claims and coordination with the QS.
- Attend and participate in project meetings, providing updates on site activities and progress.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during construction.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 10 years of site engineering experience, with at least 5 years as a Site Manager, preferably in civil/building projects.
Competencies and Skills Required:
- Good communication skills in English and Tamil/Sinhala.
- Possess good negotiating skills.
- Good knowledge of construction at the site.
- Good understanding of the principles of contracts.
- Good analytical and manpower management skills.
- Self-motivation and the ability to lead.
